Dear Parent/Caregiver

Kowhai Syndicate have an exciting trip planned to the Carter Observatory on Monday 4 July as part of our integrated unit, Space.

We will be visiting in two groups as the Observatory cannot accommodate the whole syndicate at once. The visit will include a planetarium show, an educational workshop, and time to explore the interactive multimedia galleries.

Rooms 4, 6 and 7 will be going in the morning. Please note the bus leaves at 8.30am so we are asking these classes to be at school in their classroom by 8.20am.

Rooms 3 and 5 will be going in the afternoon. Please note they may be slightly late back to school as the bus departs at 2.30pm from the Carter Observatory.

Departure:
Morning Trip: Bus leaves school at 8.30am
Afternoon Trip: Bus leaves school at 11.45am

Return:
Morning Trip: Return to school approximately 12.30pm
Afternoon Trip: Return to school approximately 3.15pm

Please ensure your child wears appropriate clothing, has a drink bottle and a packed lunch for the trip.

We have a limited number of parent helpers that we can take due to space on the bus and limitations at Carter Observatory. Parent helpers will be expected to be actively supervising a group of children. Your classroom teacher will be in contact with you if you are needed on the trip. Unfortunately no pre schoolers can come on this trip.

The cost of the trip is $17.00. This includes transport to and from Wellington by bus,  a workshop and planetarium show at Carter Observatory.
