After School Care
Senior After School Care
There is an After School Care facility at the school offering a quality service where pupils are supervised within an organised programme making use of school facilities. The service caters primarily for regular clients and accepts casual pupils when space is available. It operates from 3 to 6 pm, Monday to Friday during the school term.
After School Care is an OSCAR approved programme and families are eligible for the Family Assistance Allowance from Work and Income.
The programme caters for students between years 2 to 8, and is coordinated by Louise Ioane - Executive Officer and our supervisors are Margaret Johnston and Nancy Pengelly.
Te Whare Atawhai/Junior After School Care caters for 5 and 6yrs, we found that a familiar environment with personalized care suited the younger students more than being mixed in with the older children which was a bit overwhelming for some. This program is coordinated by Louise Ioane - Executive Office and the Senior Supervisor Christina Dodds.
When the end of school bell rings, the students walk from their classrooms to the junior ASC room. If your child is brand new to school and you think that they might find this a bit difficult feel free to contact me and we can chat about having them picked up from their classroom.
The Te Whare Atawhai program, which is in the old dental clinic (the building to the left of the swimming pool), lasts from 3-5. At 5pm the staff and the children who haven’t been picked up yet walk over to the senior ASC (arts center/breakfast club building).
It’s important that you let us know if your child is going to be absent from ASC. You can leave a message with the office by phone or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
