Plimmerton School PTA
Welcome to the Plimmerton School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) zone. Here is where you will find information about the PTA, how to contact us and upcoming fundraising events.
The Plimmerton School Parent Teacher Association is formed from a small group of parents and teacher representatives, whose goal is to raise money for the school. It is a group that have fun running events and making strong relationships while working for the benefit of the school. The sausage sizzle is run by a group of parents working with the PTA raising money for the school. Each year the Board of Trustees budgets for the spending of the Operational Grant and locally raised funds which includes money raised by the PTA.
The benefit for all our children is that:
- They are taught in smaller classes
- The school is well resourced e.g. heated covered swimming pool, modern auditorium, extensive ICT facilities, attractive learning environments, a modern well stocked library.
- Additional staff are employed to provide learning support and programmes for gifted and talented students, to provide opportunities in the Performing Arts in choirs and bands and to support Te Reo and Kapa Haka.
Plimmerton School PTA strives to achieve fundraising that will give additional opportunities to all students. Without fundraising, Plimmerton School would not have such fantastic facilities.
The Annual School Gala provides the bulk of funds raised each year and the support of every school family is required to make it a success.
The Annual General Meeting was held on Monday, 20 February 2012 and Marie Stuckey was appointed Chairperson, Frank Simmons, Treasurer and the Secretary, Francesse Middleton. We meet about once a month in the Plimmerton School staffroom on a Monday night at 7.30pm.
How you can help to raise funds for the school:
- Postie Plus via their Schooltex range and Wheelers give a % of the sales you make at these places to the school.
- The PTA operate a trade me and the contact for this is Marie Stuckey.
